Electrolytic capacitors are the short-lifespan part of any vintage amp or receiver. By the time a 1976 Marantz lands on the bench, the originals are usually well under value — you hear it as a grain in the midrange and soft bass before you ever measure it.
A recap brings the unit back to spec: fresh capacitors throughout the power supply and audio sections, a careful bias and alignment pass, and a listening test against a known reference before it goes back to its owner.
